Albrecht DĂĽrer’s Young Hare (German: Feldhase), painted in 1502, is a stunning example of his talent for capturing nature in exquisite detail. Created in his workshop, this watercolor and bodycolor masterpiece is celebrated alongside his famous Great Piece of Turf, which he painted the following year. While commonly known as Young Hare, the artwork’s almost photographic precision reveals that the hare is actually fully grown. The German title, Feldhase, translates to “Field Hare,” and in English, it’s often referred to simply as The Hare or Wild Hare.
